A second MP has quit Your Party within a week, escalating tensions and raising fresh doubts about the leftwing group co-led by Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana.

Iqbal Mohamed, who was tagged as the independent MP for Dewsbury and Batley last time, stated in a statement on X that he decided to depart due

to" numerous false allegations and smears"

against him and others. He didn't give an explanation.

Adnan Hussain, another independent member of Your Party, abdicated last Friday due to what he described as

" patient dissension and a struggle for power"

within the party.

Mohamed added in his statement that although he wished Your Party well, he had made the decision to leave it and continue to be an independent "after careful consideration."

In its brief existence, your party has seen a number of divisions and disputes, primarily pitting Sultana who was elected as a Labour MP but currently serves as an independent against Corbyn, the former leader of the Labour Party, and four other independents who were affiliated with the group.

Sultana was enraged when Mohamed and Hussain, along with Corbyn and the other two independent MPs, signed a Your Party statement last week accusing Sultana of needlessly delaying the transfer of £850,000 in donations.

Sultana's supporters accused other MPs in Your Party of attempting to discredit her with the comments, claiming that the timing right before Sultana's appearance on BBC One's Question Time seemed to be meant to hurt her prospects of defeating Corbyn in a potential leadership fight.

Sultana's decision to host her own pre-conference rally on the Friday night before the conference starts, branding it as a Your Party event despite though it is entirely her own, has irritated several Corbyn-affiliated party figures.

When a membership portal was introduced, Your Party lacked a proper structure and bank account, which is where the controversy around the party funds began.

As a result, a newly established business named MOU Operations Ltd. received the majority of membership dues and donations.

The £850,000 was urgently needed to run the convention, according to your Party leaders. Sultana's supporters maintained that she was following the law as quickly as possible.

How might this resignation affect the party conference plans?

The recent abdication of an alternate MP from Your Party is creating significant query around the party's forthcoming founding conference. Sources from within the party describe the abdication as clear substantiation of damage to the fragile coalition Your Party was meant to represent. The abdication has heightened pressures between different coalitions, especially between sympathizers of Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana.

While the conference is still listed to take place, the leadership struggles and internal controversies over issues similar to party governance and rights may overshadow proceedings and make agreement more delicate to achieve.

Some interposers hope that the conference will allow the party to resolve public dissensions and calm pressures, but others advise that these adoptions reveal deeper problems that could hinder the party’s capability to present a united front and attract a broad electoral base.
