aimed at fostering an AI-friendly environment. These include partnerships with
international tech leaders, the establishment of AI research centres, and

A spokesperson for Jordan’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship highlighted to the Jordan Times the pivotal role of public-private collaboration:
“Our focus is on building a robust AI ecosystem that attracts investment, encourages local talent development, and supports ethical AI practices.”
The government’s agenda aligns with the country’s national
vision to become a regional AI hub, supporting both economic diversification
and digital economy growth. This vision is being reinforced through AI-focused
incubators and accelerator programmes, which nurture innovative Jordanian

Leading Jordanian corporations and SMEs (small and
medium-sized enterprises) are actively adopting AI tools to streamline

Nour Al-Hassan, a technology analyst at the Middle East Business Review, noted:
“Jordan’s private sector is rapidly evolving with AI, from automated call centres to advanced diagnostics in healthcare. This transformation is also creating new job roles and changing required skill sets.”
However, as Al-Hassan emphasizes, this shift requires
careful workforce planning to avoid displacement and to equip workers with
digital skills critical for AI-era jobs.

emphasis on workforce reskilling and upskilling. Academic institutions and
vocational training centres have integrated AI-focused curricula, often in

Sara Khoury, director of the Queen Rania Centre for Digital Education, told the Jordan Herald:
“Our mission is to prepare Jordan’s youth for tomorrow’s jobs. We provide specialized courses in AI programming, data science, and ethical AI to ensure young professionals are ready to lead in this competitive field.”
Additionally, numerous AI boot camps, hackathons, and
certification programmes encourage continuous learning and practical
experience.
Challenges Faced in AI Adoption
Despite the positive momentum, Jordan faces challenges
typical of nations making deep digital transitions. Infrastructure limitations
in rural areas, the need for stronger regulatory oversight on data privacy, and
concerns about AI ethics and inclusion require ongoing attention.
Experts interviewed by Al-Monitor warn that without
addressing these issues, the benefits of AI adoption risk being unevenly
distributed, potentially exacerbating social disparities.
International Recognition and Investment
Jordan’s rapid AI adoption has not gone unnoticed internationally.
The World Economic Forum included Jordan in its 2025 list of "Emerging AI
Leaders," recognising the country’s efforts in workforce development and
tech innovation.
Major global tech firms such as Microsoft and IBM have
established regional AI centres in Amman, further stimulating investment and
knowledge exchange.
