ICE plans to launch a national call center aiding law enforcement in locating unaccompanied migrant children who entered the U.S. illegally.
In order to assist law enforcement in "locating unaccompanied alien children," ICE stated that it had an "immediate need" to set up a 24-hour call center in Nashville, Tennessee that can handle 6,000 to 7,000 calls per day.
By the end of March, ICE hopes to have the call center open and fully functioning by June. It asks how many vendors are interested and what technology they can employ to "maximize call efficiency."
Following the passing of the Republican Party's massive bill, which President Donald Trump signed into law in July, the government is investing $170 billion in immigration and border security, which coincides with the proposed call center and transportation plans. Partnerships with state and municipal law enforcement organizations to enforce immigration rules have proliferated.
A number of policy changes targeting unaccompanied youngsters and
increased efforts to deport them have also been part of the Trump
administration's immigration crackdown. As of July, the government was holding
about 2,000 unaccompanied minors.

A request for comment was not immediately answered by the
Department of Homeland Security.
