Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi spoke separately with UK and Turkish counterparts on Gaza and West Bank tensions amid the escalating crisis.

According to the Jordan News Agency, the ministers stressed the significance of strengthening Jordan-UK cooperation during the call with Cooper, particularly in providing humanitarian aid to Gaza, which is still dealing with an unprecedented humanitarian crisis made worse by Israeli military action.

They emphasized the pressing necessity to open all crossings and achieve a comprehensive and long-lasting ceasefire in order to guarantee that those in need receive relief right away.

Safadi also emphasized the worsening conditions in the occupied West Bank, pointing to the growth of settlements, the expropriation of land, and the political, social, and economic restrictions placed on the Palestinian people.

He urged the world community to take immediate action to stop these actions, which jeopardize the two-state solution and the chances for a fair and sustainable peace.

In addition, Safadi reiterated Jordan's criticism of Israel's attack on Qatar and promised to support the Gulf state in preserving its security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

He praised London's sustained support for the two-state solution and its intention to recognize the state of Palestine at the UN General Assembly this month, and he complimented Cooper on taking on her post after the British Cabinet change.

According to the JNA, Safadi urged coordinated measures to stop Israel's attack on Gaza right now, negotiate a prisoner exchange deal, and expedite the delivery of relief during his conversation with Fidan.

The ministers emphasized the significance of the forthcoming Arab-Islamic summit in Doha in creating a cohesive regional reaction to Israeli aggression, denounced Israel's activities in the occupied West Bank, and reiterated Jordan's and Turkey's solidarity with Qatar.

The pledge to continue close coordination on matters of mutual concern and regional security was made at the end of both calls.

What did Yvette Cooper say about humanitarian aid to Gaza?

The necessity to strengthen and enhance cooperation between Jordan and the UK to ensure that aid is delivered to Gazans, as they continue to struggle with a humanitarian catastrophe exacerbated by Israeli military operations.

The priority of opening all border crossings to allow the immediate flow of humanitarian supplies to vulnerable populations.

The urgency of establishing a permanent and full ceasefire in order to facilitate the delivery of aid safely and to limit the suffering of civilians. Cooper also emphasized his support for UK government efforts to diplomatically recognize the State of Palestine and pursue a two-state solution that affords peace and security for both Israelis and Palestinians.

Cooper and Safadi also discussed maintaining close coordination between their two countries to face ongoing challenges as part of the region.
