UAE drops 81st airdrop of humanitarian aid in Gaza as part of 'Birds of Goodness Operation', with Jordan, Germany, and Indonesia, delivering essential supplies to Gaza.

Due to the horrific humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, the shipment included large quantities of essential food items produced in cooperation with Emirates-based non-profits and related organizations to meet the needs of the people.

The UAE has once again shown its commitment to helping the Palestinian people and enhancing their resilience through the completion of this airdrop adding to the total of airlifted aid delivered through this operation to more than 4,076 tonnes of food and other essential items.

These initiatives represent the leadership of the UAE in global relief efforts while fostering collaboration regionally and globally as well as further engendering the charitable spirit to relieve what can be eased for those affected by emergencies.

According to relief organizations, experts in malnutrition, and the UN, the hunger situation in Gaza is at a tipping point, with severely limited supplies of fortified milk and particularly nutritional pastes making food shortages worse and driving more children to starvation.

The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), the primary global hunger monitor collaborating with the U.N. and other aid organizations, officially confirmed famine for the first time Friday in parts of Gaza, nearly two years after Israel's invasion, with nearly a quarter of the population at risk of starvation.

How does this 81st airdrop compare to the 79th and 80th missions?

The 79th, 80th and 81st airdrop were to distribute food and humanitarian supplies to Gaza in the middle of multiple crises. Each airdrop illustrates the continual coordinated effort and support to deliver humanitarian assistance to Gaza, and the continued collaboration between Jordan, Germany, and Indonesia reinforced a consistent partnership and multilateral effort.

The airdrop scale and implications from both 79, 80, and 81 are still significant coordinates of aid and each mission has flown more than 4,000 tonnes of aid in total. The 81st airdrop continues on from the past 79 and 80 missions to provide food and humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Overall, the 81st mission delivers the same humanitarian cooperation with international multilateral deployment for relief support to the vulnerable populations of Gaza.
